Innovative Ways to Use Leftover School Budgets

February 17, 2022

How budgets are allocated, when they need to be used by, and how much you get in budget varies from school to school. Up and down the UK, teachers plan how to use their budget to purchase all the school supplies they need. As we’re nearing March and therefore the end of the financial year, it’s important to ensure that budgets are used up within the coming weeks. With our wide range of school supplies, furniture, and paper, we can help you make the most of any surplus budget.

Replace old classroom furniture

School furniture is essential for classrooms, but tables, chairs, and storage solutions are a big investment, and therefore don’t get replaced regularly. Over time these can begin to look a little tired and show signs of aging. Our furniture range includes various quality designs and colours. With options for primary and secondary schools. Meaning whatever you’re looking for, we will have!

But, if you’re thinking a little more big picture, get in touch to learn about our dedicated furniture projects division. Our projects mean you can transform your learning zone, whether this is for one classroom or the whole school - we work on refurbishments of all sizes. We provide a free, no-obligation furniture consultation, based on your requirements, available budget, and timescale.

Order extra supplies that you use LOTS

‘This’ product will vary between teachers. That one product, that no matter how many you buy, by November, you’ve run out. If you know of a product that you use lots during the school year, why not order extra in preparation for the next year to avoid running out on a Wednesday afternoon in December. Perhaps core subject exercise books, whiteboard markers, or pencils even?

Gifts & awards

Small awards to reward students for going above and beyond or making a great improvement don't have to be big or fancy. They are a great way of recognising achievement or hard work, but are rather cheap and can encourage other students to strive to achieve an ‘award’ or ‘gift’. Even if this is a penguin-shaped rubber.

Create a new display wall

Display walls are a staple in any school classroom and corridor. And these change throughout the year based on topics, projects, and events, but teachers are always looking for ways to create new and exciting display boards. If you’ve seen something super impressive on Pinterest and just have to create it, then why not order all of your supplies ready for your ‘summer project’. Ready for your new students to be amazed on their first day back in September.

Invest in spares

Many children accidentally misplace items and school supplies. Some simply forget to bring them in, and for some parents, they may not be able to afford certain items. Having a ‘spares’ box is a great backup plan, for any of these situations, as it ensures that no student is left out, whatever their circumstance.
